Do you have an outdoor industry related startup? Are you looking for investment? Our friends at Bend Outdoor Worx are now taking applications for the 2018 BreakOut (which was previously known as Venture Out). The event features early and growth stage outdoor startups pitching their ideas and companies for the opportunity to win various awards and investments.
Last year, the event awarded a whopping $117,500 to five different emerging outdoor companies, according to the BOW news release. Point being: If you’re seeking investment, it’s certainly worth your time to apply. What’s more: The event is super fun. There’s beer and food, the startups are always really interesting, and there’s often live music. It’s scheduled for Oct. 17 at the Tower Theater.
More from the news release:
The 2017 awards included the $10k BreakOut award for early stage companies, the $5k Ready to Roll award for growth stage companies, and a $2,500 award for Rec-Tech companies. Two of the three award winners were chosen by audience vote and all were awarded cash with “no strings attached.” Another $100k in debt funding through Business Oregon’s Small Business Expansion Program was also awarded. Additionally, another $2,500 was donated to two outdoor non-profit companies. Prize categories and amounts for the 2018 BOW BreakOut will be announced shortly.
Outdoor companies seeking funding and visibility are encouraged to apply at http://bendoutdoorworx.com/apply/ Applications close July 15, 2018. For more information visit Bendoutdoorworx.com
